Wooroloo crash blocks highway

A 27-year-old woman has died after a crash involving two trucks and one utility in Wooroloo overnight.

The crash occurred on a sweeping bend on Great Eastern Highway near Old Northam Road at about 7.30pm.

Midland traffic enforcement group senior constable Tony Camillo said the female driver was the single occupant of a Holden Rodeo dual cab utility when her vehicle collided with a truck.

The woman died at the scene.

"A truck with a tanker was heading west and a single prime mover was heading east," he said.

"There was no contact between the trucks, but we believe the vehicle collided with the rear of the tanker and then the prime mover collided with the aftermath.

"We have not confirmed the direction of the vehicle at this stage."

Snr Const. Camillo said the truck drivers, both males, were shaken but not injured in the incident.

Major Crash investigators, traffic enforcement group officers, ambulance officers and firefighters were at the scene. Road closures were in place overnight.
