Man charged after partner crashes

A man has been charged after allegedly crashing into the back of his estranged de facto partner’s car, which rolled before landing on its roof.

Albany Detectives charged the 45-year-old Mt Barker man over the incident in Orana yesterday.

Police allege the man saw his former partner driving along Albany Highway at 2.25pm.

“It is alleged he drove recklessly and struck the rear of the victim’s vehicle, causing her vehicle to roll a number of times, landing on its roof,” a police spokesperson said.

The woman was left with scratches and a sore neck and back.

The man has been charged with having no authority to drive, breaching a violence restraining order, reckless driving and act or omission causing bodily harm.

He is due to appear in Albany Magistrate’s Court today.
