Australia's highest-ranked heavyweight boxer Lucas Browne is set to defend his Commonwealth title in England on August 1.

Big-punching Browne, ranked eight by the WBC, nine by the IBF and 13 by the WBA, does not yet have an opponent.

Unbeaten "Big Daddy", who is promoted by Ricky Hatton, won the Commonwealth belt in April and is tipped to be Australia's next world heavyweight title contender.

Top of the bill, promoted by Frank Warren, is Birmingham's Frankie Gavin, Britain's only world amateur gold medal winner who challenges Italy's European welterweight champion Leonard Bundu.
