Jade mourns for 'beloved mum'
Perth X Factor winner Samantha Jade is mourning the loss of her beloved mum who passed away on Sunday.
“Our beautiful mother Jacqueline Deans Gibbs passed away peacefully with family by her side on June 8th, 2014,” a statement from Jade and her family released to The West Australian read.
“She fought till the very end with the strength and grace by which she lived her life and will be deeply missed. We appreciate your kind words, prayers, and respect for our family during this very difficult time.”
Gibbs was diagnosed with cancer in February, which prompted the 27-year-old pop star to pack up her life in Sydney and move back to Perth to be by her family’s side.
“Unfortunately, she’s not very well. It has been tough, ” Jade said in March.
“I’ve taken a lot of time off, as in, I’m only here when I need to be to do work.
“It’s weird not living here (in Sydney) and living back home but I need to be by her side.
“I’m just asking for people to keep her in their positive thoughts.”
