Train services resume

Trains services return

The fault which disrupted train services on the Armadale and Thornlie lines has been fixed and normal operations are resuming.

Trains stopped running on the Armadale and Thornlie lines between Perth and Maddington for about an hour from 4.30pm today.

Replacement buses were called in but peak-hour commuters experienced long delays.

Public Transport Authority spokesman David Hynes said the problem was caused when a surge arrester failed near Oats Street station.
