Bandmates of a musician badly injured after a one-punch assault in Subiaco have pleaded for his attacker to turn himself in.
Sacha Tostevin was last night in a serious condition in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital after being struck from behind on Saturday morning.
The blow knocked the 29-year-old to the pavement, where he hit his head. His attacker fled as bystanders rushed to help.
Police released security vision yesterday of three men and two women, who they believe can help with the inquiry.
The attack happened about 12.20am on Hay Street.
The injured man's friends Robert Luxford, Tim Attenborough and Juanita Pegrum yesterday appealed for information to help police catch the man who hurt the musician and talented mathematician.
Ms Pegrum said Mr Tostevin was "harmless like a fly" and she was concerned about the extent of his head injuries.
"I just hope he comes back as our Sacha," she said. "He has so much talent. He amazes us."
Mr Tostevin is a pianist and the lead guitarist in the band The Silence In-Between.
On Facebook, other friends sent him "positive vibes".
