Rescue chopper heads to rock fall

Rescue chopper on way to bike crash

A man will be flown to hospital after being injured in a fall in Cervantes.

It is understood the man fractured his knee when it was hit by a rock he dislodged when he fell.

The RAC rescue helicopter was sent to Pinnacles Drive, near Indian Ocean Drive, just before 1pm.

The man’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening but he will be flown to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

The chopper had earlier been directed to the scene of a trailbike crash north of Manjimup this morning but the rider was assessed and it was deemed he did not need chopper transport.
