Sheedy lauds WA indigenous stars

AFL legend Kevin Sheedy is putting together a team of the best Noongar footballers of all time to mark this weekend’s national celebration of the game’s indigenous stars.

The team will include some of WA’s most famous Aboriginal players including, Graham Farmer, Stephen Michael, Peter Matera, Barry Cable and current Fremantle defender Michael Johnson.

And despite once famously waving his Essendon jacket at West Coast fans, making a throat-slitting gesture towards former Eagle Mitchell White and tying down a wind-sock at the Bombers’ Windy Hill home before a game against the WA club, Sheedy will ask football fans from around the State to help him finalise his lineup. Noongar people are from WA’s south-west corner.
