Taxi driver bashed by drunk passengers

Police are hunting two men who punched a taxi driver in the head after he asked for an advance payment this morning.

The men had asked to be taken from Charles Street East in Midland to a home in Lockridge at about 12.30am.

Noticing that the men were drunk, the driver asked for the fare in advance.

The two men punched the driver in the head and shoulders several times and stole his mobile phone before running away.
