Taller buildings plan for Riverside precinct

Maximum building heights in parts of Perth's new Riverside precinct will jump from six storeys to the equivalent of 41 storeys under proposed planning guidelines, prompting calls from the City of Perth for a review.

A report to tomorrow night's Perth planning committee has recommended asking the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority to review its proposed increase in building heights for the 4ha Waterbank precinct near the causeway, citing concerns it may not be in keeping with the city's urban design framework and did not provide for a transition of building heights from the CBD down to the river.
