Pinjarra truck fire 'suspicious'
Police and DFES are investigating the suspicious circumstances surrounding a truck fire in Pinjarra that caused $160,000 damage overnight.
The refrigeration truck caught fire just after 2.15am on the outskirts of the town.
A DFES spokesman said firefighters took about 20 minutes to extinguish the vehicle.
“The investigation is now being handed to police, the circumstances are believed to be suspicious,” he said.
A reported explosion in nearby Mandurah turned out to be a false alarm, after a lifestyle village resident accidentally drove into a gas meter box.
No-one was injured.
