Fresh face for Scarborough

Another plank in the revitalisation of Scarborough was laid last night with the official relaunch of the Rendezvous Hotel.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by Premier Colin Barnett, marked the end of the Rendezvous' multimillion-dollar refurbishment.

It came as the Metropolitan Re- development Authority prepares to take over as the planning authority for the slice of beachfront land known as the Scarborough re- development area. The MRA is also scheduled to release its master plan for the area.

The Rendezvous redevelopment includes refurbishment of the hotel's 330-plus rooms, executive suites and the establishment of new restaurants.
