Woman, 81, threatened with gun

Two men have been arrested after a series of armed robberies in Bunbury today.

A police spokeswoman said an elderly woman was allegedly threatened with a gun at an ATM at the Park Centre about 12.45pm.

About 15 minutes later, an 81-year-old woman was allegedly threatened at an ATM outside Carpet Hotline on Sandridge Road.

Finally, about 1.25pm, it is believed the same man held up the Cellarbrations liquor store on Pratt Road in Eaton.

The police spokeswoman said the man stole cash from the store then left the area in a car.

“A short time later, police on the way to the armed robbery saw the offending vehicle travelling in the opposite direction along the Australind bypass,” the spokeswoman said.

“The car was then seen to crash, coming to rest on the roof.

“Police arrived at the scene and took two men in custody.”

“No injuries were received by the men. They are currently assisting police with their inquiries into these matters.”
