All the way win for Rebel King

All the way for Rebel King

Boom two-year-old Rebel King continued his impressive Belmont Park campaign with a massive four-length win today.

Starting at the rock-bottom odds of $1.16, Rebel King was sent straight to the lead by jockey Ben Kennedy in the Del Basso Smallgoods Nursery (1000m).

That was the last his rivals saw of him, as Rebel King bounded away to score a comprehensive victory.

Circle Of Friends and Malibu Style filled the placings.

Rebel King, rated by trainer Darren McAuliffe as the fastest horse he has ever prepared, won by the same margin a fortnight ago.

"He's got the job done again," McAuliffe said. "He's been well educated and the only chink in his armour is he misses it (the start) a bit.

"He's been progressing nicely.

"He'll go around again over 1000m in two weeks time, all going well.

"He's pretty bombproof."

McAuliffe prepared Rebel King's sire, Universal Ruler, to win multiple feature races.

Rebel King was Universal Ruler's first winner when he broke through a fortnight ago.

Meanwhile, gun apprentice Chris Parnham scored his first winner since returning from injury on Celebrity Miss.

The quality mare ran on from sixth on the turn to beat Wombie's Legacy by 1 1/2 lengths in the Del Basso Smallgoods Italian Day Sprint (1000m).

Parnham made his comeback on Wednesday after breaking his right wrist in Sydney in February.
