Karratha girl hit by bus

A seven-year-old girl was flown to Perth in a serious condition after she was hit by a bus in Karratha yesterday.

The collision happened about 4pm on Tambrey Drive in Nickol, near Matebore Street.

A police spokeswoman said the bus was travelling east when the seven-year-old girl allegedly walked onto the road.

She said the bus was unable to avoid the girl.

The child was rushed to Nickol Bay Hospital with serious injuries then transferred to Princess Margaret Hospital by the Royal Flying Doctor Service.

Police would like to speak to witnesses.
