A 23-year-old has been charged after a man was stabbed to the neck outside a Centrelink office in Rockingham yesterday.

The Shoalwater man allegedly started fighting with a 33-year-old outside the Civic Boulevard office about 2.15pm.

A police spokeswoman said the 33-year-old was taken to Rockingham Hospital after he received a puncture wound to the neck.

The 23-year-old has been charged with unlawful wounding.

He will appear in Rockingham Magistrate’s Court on May 16
