Disgraced NRL star found dead

A former rugby league player at the centre of a match betting scandal has been found dead of a suspected drug overdose.

Ryan Tandy, who was found guilty of match-fixing by the NRL while playing for Canterbuty in 2010, was believed to be a known drug user. He died at his parents' home in northern NSW.

He was 32.

Tandy was banned for life by the NRL despite his not guilty pleas over spot fixing.
