McGuire under fire for latest live gaffe

Collingwood president Eddie McGuire came under fire on Twitter tonight after seeming to refer to Port Adelaide's Kane Cornes as an "old ****" live on TV.

McGuire was interviewing Cornes on Fox Footy's Ed & Derm's Big Week In Footy following the Power's 40-point win over previously-unbeaten Geelong at Adelaide Oval.

"Go and have a rub, sing the song, enjoy yourself, all those things mate, you might have to have two rubs being an old ****, an old campaigner these days, well done," McGuire said to a smiling Cornes.

Fans took to Twitter to complain at what McGuire said, with many calling for him to be sacked by Fox.

McGuire was forced to apologise to Adam Goodes last year after saying on radio that the Sydney superstar, an Aboriginal, should be used to promote the King Kong musical just days after Goodes had been called "an ape" by a Collingwood fan.
