Star slams Doubtfire sequel

While fans are rejoicing about the upcoming Mrs Doubtfire sequel, one person not so happy about the news is the child star who appeared in the original film.

Mara Wilson, who scored her breakout role at the age of five by playing Natalie Hillard in the hit 1993 movie, thinks studio bosses are wrong to produce a follow-up.

Robin Williams is reportedly set to reprise his role as the cross-dressing nanny 21 years after the original film, while Chris Columbus has been tipped to return as director.

However, Wilson tweeted she was not a fan of the overall idea and would not be involved in the sequel.

"Sequels generally suck unless they were planned as part of a trilogy or series. I think Doubtfire ended where it needed to end," the 26-year-old wrote.

"There are many, many reasons I don't want to be in Mrs Doubtfire 2. But they haven't even asked me (yet), so no need to worry."
