More sex assault charges for taxi driver

Detectives are expected to lay more charges today against a Perth taxi driver.

Police said investigations into the 58-year-old man's activities by detectives from the sex assault squad identified more incidents that were allegedly committed against two new victims and an existing victim.

The offences were allegedly committed while the women were on separate taxi trips in late January and early February.

"The women are wheelchair-bound and were seated in their wheelchairs in the rear of the taxi when the incidents took place," police said.

The Dianella man will be further charged with 17 counts of indecently dealing with an incapable person.

He is due to re-appear in Perth Magistrate's Court today.
