Emirates flight diverted to Perth

An Emirates flight bound for Dubai from Sydney was diverted to Perth this morning.

The airline announced that the plane landed at Perth Airport just after 8.20am.

Emirates said the plane was diverted for operational reasons, but did not reveal further details about why flight EK415 changed its course after leaving Sydney's Kingsford Smith Airport at 6am (local time).

The plane was scheduled to depart from Perth Airport for the United Arab Emirates after 9.40am.
