They have spent months getting into shape and now 24 of *WA *'s most beautiful women are nervously making the final preparations for next week's Miss Universe WA State final.

This week, the top 24 contestants were fitted for the garments and swimwear they will parade on the floating catwalk at *Matisse Beach Club *in *Scarborough *next Friday night in the hope of making it through to the national final, where they have the chance to be crowned Miss Australia 2014.

Esteemed fashion designer *Ruth Tarvydas *helped fit each of the finalists into one of her glamorous creations, which will be the final look for each of the competitors.

Working with the finalists also gives Tarvydas an early look at the girls before she takes her chair as one of the 12 judges who will help decide WA's six national finalists.

Miss Universe WA talent manager *Sophia Barbagallo *said she was confident *Perth *could produce the third national winner in four years after discovering *Scherri-Lee Biggs *in 2011 and *Renae Ayris *in 2012.

"There are definitely a number of girls who are ready and perfectly suited to step into the role of Miss Universe Australia," Barbagallo said.

"It will just come down to the judges at nationals and their personal preferences for the finalists.

"They must have the X factor, be able to walk into a room and command attention - the right kind of attention! Be gorgeous-looking, have a presence, be able to talk to anyone and, very importantly, have something to offer Australia and the world."
