Stolen ute pursuit ends with arrest

Police were last night questioning a man who allegedly led police on a 130km chase through Perth's north.

Police spotted the 26-year-old man driving a stolen blue utility north on Mitchell Freeway about 2.50pm yesterday. The ute was apparently stolen during an aggravated burglary in Hillarys.

Police chased the vehicle for a short time before aborting the pursuit because of safety concerns. It resumed later and the vehicle was followed through Quinns Rocks, Alkimos, Yanchep, Jindalee and Lancelin.

It is understood stingers were used to try to stop the ute but were unsuccessful.

The vehicle was stopped on Brand Highway, north of Cataby, at 4.30pm. Police were searching for another man believed to have been in the ute when it was in the Quinns Rocks area.
