Two thieves threw an elderly man to the ground in a burglary yesterday morning at a Rivervale aged-care facility.
The man, aged in his 60s, disturbed the intruders inside his room after they had forced their way through a security door at the Brightwater residence on Johnson Road about 5.15am.
The victim and one of the offenders scuffled and the elderly man was pushed to the ground before the duo fled. They stole several handbags belonging to staff.
The elderly man was believed to have had minor injuries.
