Assault charge over Exmouth injury

A charge has been laid over a man discovered injured by the side of the road in Exmouth early on Saturday morning.

West Pilbara Detectives and Exmouth Police have charged a 48-year-old man from Exmouth with assault occasioning bodily harm.

The charge may be reviewed once the extent of injuries to the 44-year-old victim are confirmed.

About 12.15am yesterday, police received a call about an injured man seen on Nimitz Street in Exmouth.

They arrived to find a man in a serious condition.

Paramedics rushed him to Exmouth Hospital for treatment but he was later flown to Perth because of the severity of his injuries.

The accused man is due to appear in the Exmouth Magistrates Court on Thursday 10 April 2014.
