A man accused of setting up an illegal weapons store on the internet has been charged by police in Perth.

Organised Crime Squad detectives raided three properties near Fremantle last week, and arrested the 36 year-old Hamilton Hill man after a massive haul of weapons was discovered.

Among them were 20 swords, 24 double-edged swords, a samurai sword, a throwing axe, 13 sets of sharpened metal-edged throwing cards and nearly 50 high-powered sling shots.

More than 50gm of heroin and smaller amounts of methylamphetamine and cannabis were also seized.

Police will allege the man was importing the weapons, and then using the internet and the premises in North Fremantle to sell them.

He has been charged with possessing a prohibited drug with intent to sell or supply, selling a prohibited drug, possessing a prohibited weapon, possessing a controlled weapon and possessing drug paraphernalia.

He is due to appear in Fremantle Magistrates Court on Tuesday, April 1.
