Luxury hotel chain The Ritz-Carlton has confirmed it will build a 204-room hotel at Perth’s Elizabeth Quay.

The company announced today it had signed an agreement for the development which is set to include ground floor retail space, waterfront dining areas and one, two and three-bedroom apartments.

Groundbreaking for the new hotel is set to start next year.

In a statement today, Mariott International Asia president Simon Cooper said the hotel would open in 2018.

“We are delighted to bring the legendary Ritz-Carlton facilities and services to Perth, offering our guests a new destination and a new luxury experience in Western Australia,” Mr Cooper said.
