Ultimate prank on Daily hosts

Breakfast presenter Larry Edmur has given The Daily Edition panellists the shock of their year by posing as Australia's oldest father for a segment on the afternoon show.

The Morning Show anchor spent three hours in hair and makeup to transform him into an 85-year-old man complete with convincing wrinkles, false teeth and a walking stick.

He then seamlessly fooled hosts Monique Wright, Sally Obermeder, Tom Williams and Kris Smith into believing he had just made the record for oldest dad after his much-younger pin-up wife gave birth to a baby girl.

The presenters quizzed Edmur about whether the infant keeps him up all night and how the tot was conceived.

It was only when the popular personality started to describe how he met his buxom wife through an online Viagra advertisement that Williams began to smell a rat and Edmur was outed.

It was eventually revealed the prank was a promotion for the DVD release of comedy flick Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa, in which Johnny Knoxville had to undergo a similar faux ageing transformation for filming each day.

The full makeup process and story will appear on The Morning Show tomorrow, which airs from 9am on Seven/GWN7.
