Freo trains out for afternoon peak
UPDATE 2pm: The Fremantle train service will not be operational for this afternoon's peak travel.
Passengers were stuck on trains on the Fremantle line for more than an hour this morning after "lines snapped" near Daglish station.

A Transperth spokesman said Perth-bound services had been cancelled due to a “technical issue” on the line. It appeared overhead power lines snapped about 7.50am.

He said there were significant delays on the Fremantle line. Fremantle-bound services and trains on the Midland line were also affected.
Replacement buses will run this afternoon and services are expected to return to normal early this evening.
Transperth spokesman David Hynes said a team of technicians had been working to fix the problem for several hours.
“We have about a dozen staff down at Daglish working as quickly as they can to get this issue resolved,” he said.
“This is not something that can be rushed – the safety of our staff and passengers is of the utmost importance.”
A passenger told thewest.com.au the train had come to a stop just before it reached Daglish station.
“We were going along and it sounded like something was hitting the top of the train,” she said. “We could see out the windows that the line was sort of falling down the side of the train and we just slowly came to a stop.
She said Transperth staff had turned up about 30 minutes after the "full train with plenty of people standing" came to a stop.
A full investigation into what caused the problem is under way.
