Officers injured in western suburbs

UPDATE: Police have taken three males into custody after drama unfolded in Perth's western suburbs this afternoon.

Three men, one of them in handcuffs, were on the run after the stolen car they were driving rammed a police car in Jolimont this afternoon.

A police officer was assaulted in the incident and was taken to hospital with broken ribs.

Several police cars and ambulances converged on Jolimont.

Police said two people were in the car and were being apprehended by police.

One offender had been handcuffed and police were apprehending the second man.

The second male allegedly assaulted a constable.

Both men were on the run.

"They were located a short time ago in a park at the intersection of Peel Place and Cardigan Terrace in Jolimont," police said at 4.30pm.

In a separate incident, a police officer is in hospital after being assaulted while attending a domestic dispute.

A St John Ambulance spokesman initially confirmed the officer had been stabbed at a Nedlands home mid-afternoon.

But after receiving a more detailed report, he clarified that the officer had been assaulted at a Jolimont home and had been taken to Royal Perth Hospital.
