Kizon up for cut of $6m payout

Police target John Kizon is set to share in a $6 million-plus settlement with the State Government after yesterday beating prosecutors for the second time in four years.

A District Court jury yesterday acquitted Mr Kizon and his share trading partner Nigel Mansfield on charges of conspiring to insider trade shares in internet pornography company

The High Court had ordered the retrial of charges thrown out four years ago by Dis- trict Court judge John Wisbey.

The acquittal clears the way for Mr Mansfield to finalise negotiations for the settlement of a damages claim arising from a failed proceeds of crime action taken 11 years ago by State authorities.

The asset freezing action was based on information gained by Federal authorities.
