VIDEO: Araya's effort up for early honour

Cockburn City midfielder David Araya’s historic first National Premier League WA goal is an early contender for local soccer’s goal of the season.

Araya fired home a long-range stunner just seven minutes into Cockburn’s 3-3 draw with ECU Joondalup at ECU Sports Ground last weekend.

The goal has prime position on the first episode of Football West’s new NPL WA Highlights Show, which was launched today.

All 15 goals from six venues across the metropolitan area were captured by the cameras, while an outrageous halfway effort from Floreat Athena’s Ludo Boi and a brilliant double-save from Stirling Lions’ Aleks Vrteski also made the highlights reel.
