KFC staff 'held up with sword'

A 24-year-old man has been charged after allegedly holding up a KFC store with a sword last night.

Police allege the Seville Grove man threatened staff at the fast food outlet on Armadale Road in Haynes at about 9.30pm.

With his face covered by a balaclava, he allegedly pulled the sword from his pants and demanded cash from the till.

The man allegedly continued to make threats as the manager helped the female cashier.

He is alleged to have fled without being given cash.

Police arrested a 24-year-old man at his home later in the night.

He has been charged with attempted armed robbery and is due to appear in Armadale Magistrate's Court today.
