Pinjarra fire emergency downgraded

Fire threatens Pinjarra homes

UPDATE: A fire that threatened lives and homes in West Pinjarra is under control.

The fire is no longer moving and the emergency alert has been downgraded to an Advice.

The blaze started between Mead Way and Curtis Lane and was reported at 1.15pm.

Some roads in the area are closed, including Curtis Lane from Greenlands to Moores roads and Moores Road to Pindjarup Crescent.

At the height of the blaze, 45 firefighters battled to protect houses in Moores Road with support from water bombing aircraft.

Crews are currently working to strengthen containment lines.

The cause of the fire is unknown.
