UPDATE: A bushfire has burnt through more than 100ha in Waroona, south of Perth.
An emergency warning had been issued for people in the western part of Waroona, but the alert level was downgraded at 5.50pm to a Watch and Act.
Authorities said there was a possible threat to lives and homes as the fire approached and conditions changed.
Burning embers are likely to be blown around houses.
The fire started between Buller and Coronation roads and is burning towards Harvey River in a north, north-west direction at 100m/h.
The bushfire, which was reported about 1.15pm, is out of control and unpredictable and has burnt through 101ha.
Firefighters are protecting houses on Coronation Road, with 50 career Fire and Rescue Service, Bush Fire Service and Department of Parks and Wildlife firefighters tackling the blaze.
Aerial support has been sent to protect crews and homes from the fire, the cause of which is not yet known.
Coronation Road is closed from Dorset to Buller roads.
