Police dog Bucky helped find an alleged criminal in Cloverdale yesterday.

Police attended a home in Elson Way to speak to a 25-year-old man about a number of recent incidents.

Police allege the man fled on foot, jumping over a fence.

Bucky was deployed on Tonkin Highway near Dunreath Drive and tracked the alleged offender hiding in a ditch covered in thick bush.

Police then arrested the man and charged him with four counts of gain benefit by fraud, two counts of stealing and one count of criminal damage.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today.
