Helicopters and water bombers are being used to fight a fire in Kenwick.

The blaze started at an oval and quickly grew, fanned by strong winds.

Helicopters have attacked the fire near the Serbian centre and water bombers are operating near the corner of Kenwick and Bickley roads.

The Department of Fire and Emergency Services has issued an Advice alert.

The fire is contained but not controlled.

There is no threat to lives or homes but there is a lot of smoke in the area.

The fire is burning in bushland between Victoria Road, Bickley Road, Kenwick Road and Clifford Road.
