Teen killed in Pink Lake crash

An 18-year-old man is dead and a 14-year-old girl fighting for her life after a horror crash on the Pink Lake salt pan in Esperance.

About 2am, a 17-year-old boy was driving a Mazda 121 on Pink Lake with four passengers in the car, including one man in the boot.

He lost control of the car, causing it to roll several times before it came to rest on its passenger side.

The 18-year-old man and 14-year-old girl were thrown from the back seat.

They were not wearing seatbelts.

The 14-year-old girl remains in a serious condition in hospital.

The driver, a 13-year-old female passenger and an 18-year-old man who was in the boot were not injured.
