A 33-year-old man will appear in court today after he allegedly stole money from two financial institutions in Collie yesterday.

The incidents occurred between 10.15am and 10.30am.

Police allege the man jumped over a counter at a credit union on Throssell Street and stole money from the cash draws.

It is also alleged he stole money from a bank on Forrest Street.

A police spokeswoman said customers stopped the man and held him down until police arrived.

The man has been charged with armed robbery and robbery and will appear in Bunbury Magistrate's Court today.
