The wait for Aussie fans of Kanye West is over. Weeks of speculation that the controversial rapper is heading back Down Under have finally been put to rest with dates for his Australian The Yeezus Tour announced today.

Kicking off his highly anticipated tour in Perth, West will hit the stage at Perth Arena on Friday, May 2, before wrapping up in Sydney on May 10.

It will mark the first time in two years that West has been on Aussie shores, with the rapper last touring the country for the Big Day Out in 2012.

Although he controversially dropped out of the Perth BDO line-up, the tour will be the first time West has performed in WA since 2008's Good Vibrations.

Questions now loom as to whether he will be in the company of his reality TV star fiancee Kim Kardashian and their daughter North West while on tour.

Kardashian is no stranger to sitting among fans at West's shows, with the 33-year-old often sharing snaps on social media from her husband-to-be's concerts.

Dates for West's upcoming Aussie shows were due to be officially announced today, but tour posters were leaked at the weekend after appearing on walls near Victoria Park station in Melbourne.

Pre-sale tickets will be available from noon on Thursday through Ticketek, with public ticket sales from 10am next Monday, February 24.
