Bike impounded after highway chase

Police have impounded a motorcycle that was allegedly driven 60km/h over the speed limit in Geraldton yesterday.

Officers were doing traffic patrols on Brand Highway when they noticed a motorcycle travelling north at excessive speeds about 5.40pm.

The 23-year-old driver allegedly led police on a short pursuit before coming to a stop.

It is alleged he was driving 170km/h in a 110km/h zone.

The Wonthella man will be summonsed for reckless driving.
