Teen charged over fire

UPDATE: Police have charged a second teenager with criminal damage in relation to an fire in Kwinana at the weekend.

The teenager is the second 14-year-old teenager from Parmelia charged this week over the incident.

A group allegedly set fire to milk crates at the back of the Kwinana Marketplace Shopping Centre at about 8.20pm on February 8.

The fire caused the crates to melt and fuse with the bitumen, causing damage to a paved area and external wall.

The first boy is due to appear in Rockingham Children's Court on March 5 charged with criminal damage by fire.

Inquiries over the incident are continuing.
