A man has been charged over a hit-and-run crash involving a cyclist last week.

At 9.30am on February 1, a 19-year-old cyclist was hit by a vehicle on Ocean Queen Drive in Wandina and taken to hospital with a cut to his head.

It is alleged that the driver of the vehicle failed to stop.

Police have charged a 29-year-old Wandina man with dangerous driving causing bodily harm, failing to stop after a traffic crash and render assistance, failing to report a traffic crash involving bodily harm and having no authority to drive.

He will appear in Geraldton Magistrates Court on February 27.
