A 15-year-old boy has been charged over a fire in Albany yesterday.

Around 9am, police received reports of two males acting suspiciously near Cockburn Road, Centennial Park.

Two people were seen running from the area after a fire started.

Police tracked down the two youths, aged 14 and 15, and they were taken into custody.

The 15-year-old Yakamia boy has been charged with wilfully lighting a fire likely to endanger life or damage property.

Police encourage all people to be vigilant and report any suspicious people or vehicles in bushland areas by calling 131 444.
