Two men in a stolen car tried to crash through gates during a police chase in Perth's southern suburbs overnight.

A police spokesman said about 11.25pm officers tried to stop a stolen Toyota Camry on Beeliar Drive in Beeliar.

The car, stolen from an Embleton house an hour earlier, crashed into the "metal gates" of a reserve in McCaw Mews, Yangebup, and came to a stop.
