Speeding driver was double alcohol limit
Speeding driver was 'double alcohol limit'

A driver allegedly speeding through a school zone this morning was found to be more than two times over the legal alcohol limit, police say.

The driver's licence was disqualified on the spot because of the size of the reading.

Officers doing speed checks on Erindale Road, Warwick, stopped the car.

Police said the driver was travelling at 55km/hr in the 40km/hr school zone.

The driver was breath tested and police allege they recorded a level almost 2.5 times above the legal limit.

They were charged with speeding and excess 0.08.
