Things will come full circle for Rachel Griffiths soon when she heads back to the Australian small screen.
The multi-award-winning actress has just signed on to play a guest role on Nine's House Husbands, putting her alongside Gary Sweet who she acted with right at the beginning of her acclaimed career.
"I am about to do a little stint on House Husbands in Melbourne. I am really excited," Griffiths told AAA Weekend at the David Jones launch in Sydney this week.
"It is a bunch of old friends, so I think we will have a little bit of fun in the playground. I think I did my first professional job with Gary Sweet - an episode of Police Rescue in the early 1990s.
"And I have known Rhys(Muldoon) since we were like 19."
After spending most of the past two decades in Los Angeles shooting hits such as Six Feet Under and Brothers and Sisters, the 45-year-old said shooting in her home town had its perks.
"It is nice if you are running late and you can call a grandparent and say 'Can you please pick up the kids from school'. It is just easier."
