Woman charged after chase

A 24-year-old woman was allegedly found hiding in a garden bed after leading police on a car chase through Collie this morning.

A police spokeswoman said officers tried to pull over a Ford Laser sedan about 1.30am but the driver refused to stop.

She said the driver skidded through a stop sign on Wallsend Street then onto a footpath.

The driver allegedly fled the car and was found in a nearby garden.

The Collie woman has been charged with reckless driving, excess 0.08, failing to stop and no authority to drive.

She is due to appear in Collie Magistrates Court on February 26.
