Man to fight party murder charge
An Atwell man has indicated he will fight an allegation of murdering a 20-year-old man he is accused of fatally stabbing at an out-of-control party.
Ashley James Gunson appeared in Stirling Gardens Magistrate's Court this morning where his lawyer indicated he would be pleading not guilty to a charge of murder over the death of Jamie Devine in Atwell on January 11.
Mr Gunson is also facing two charges of unlawful wounding over injuries allegedly done to a 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old man.
Police were called to a house party on Lydon Boulevard at about 1.30am on January 11 after reports of a brawl involving revellers.
Mr Gunson will reappear in court next month.
