Police officer investigated over glassing

An off-duty female probationary police officer is being investigated over an alleged glassing at a Mandurah hotel over the weekend.

The probationary constable has been restricted to office duties pending the outcome of the investigation.

Police said the Peel District Office was investigating the incident at Murphy’s Irish Pub in Mandurah in which a 20-year-old woman was cut above an eyebrow.

The incident took place some time between 11.30pm and midnight on Saturday after a minor altercation between the two people escalated.

The injured woman was taken to Peel Health Campus for treatment.

Police said a complaint was was received against the off-duty female probationary constable.

The injured woman and the probationary constable are known to each other by a third party and others that were present on the night.
